Should Virtual School And Remote Work Continue?
By: Cyra Aggarwal
Ever since lockdown and quarantine, schools and most offices have switched to online learning. Online learning and work from home have pros and cons. I am going to explaining if Virtual school and working from home will work for a long-term basis or not. Let’s find out!
The major pro in Online School and work is that there is a lot of flexibility. Students and office workers don’t have to feel rushed and can work at their own pace. Also, for many people, the home environment is comfortable.
Another pro is that children can focus on other extracurricular activities after they finish schoolwork. Whereas when you are at school, the children don’t have time for activities.
Learning Self-discipline is also a pro for students in online learning. The reason is that even though being at home can be very distracting. So, children have to learn how to prioritize, manage their time, and have discipline according to their tasks.
The pros of working from home are many. Here are a few of them.
- More work flexibility
- Cost Saving
- Improved productivity
- Increased technical skills
- No office diversions
- More independence
- Global collaborations
- Reduced work absences
- Better time management
- Offers work-life balance
As you can see work, and learn from home, have a positive side to it. Children can have more discipline, and office workers can have more flexibility, including a more comfortable workspace, plus much more!
Working from home does have it’s pros, but there is also a negative side to it.
Students and office workers are not getting “in-person” time with friends, colleagues, teachers, bosses, mentors. Children also are not getting enough time with their parents because of their meetings.
Numerous children who are doing Online learning have to stay home alone because some parents can’t work from home.
There are many distractions at home which, can have an impact on many people’s fertility. Office workers with kids and (or) pets at home find it difficult to focus because of all the noise. There are also many home office costs.
There is also a chance of overworking. Since staying at home, all of the office goers who have children don’t have to pick them up or drop them at school. And because of the Coronavirus, numerous people don’t have plans. Also, many office workers are getting more work since they are at home.
All of this is a new experience for many of us. So, it might feel different. But as you can see, online school and work have their pros and cons. Now it’s up to you to decide whether if online school and work from home should continue or not.
